More from Acapulco Gold

Bit slack with posts as of late, I blame season two of Game of Thrones.
So it's obvious that AG is my new favourite label at the moment, and just in case you still need convincing that you need to get their threads, here's some more evidence.

and they ship world wide

Thick Wool Jumpers

For winter swag and toasty warmness all in one this season, you need a chunky knit. They are popping up in all of the men's collections, with Rag and Bone Man and Huffer playing with both textures and layering but keeping the colours natural. For a more feminine look, go for a bold colour. Just keep away from the David Bane jumper and you can't go wrong.

Huffer Winter 2012 drop

This season Huffer has bought on board designer Amy McFarlane from Lonely Hearts, what a difference a bit of new blood can make. The past few years (in my opinion) the label has had its ups and downs with the comings and goings of designers. But this season they've got it on lock; fresh while still keeping to the Huffer aesthetic. You'll see a lot of great stables and really flattering modern cuts; digging the wide angular pockets on the men's pants, jackets and grey high crew neck sweats.
The chick chinos which are possibly the most comfortable pair of pants I have ever owned are a nice change from denim. Keep it gangs' boys and girls.

Ghostface Killah (Wu Tang Clan)

With a career spanning 20 years and 16 album releases to-date, Ghostface Killah, the man of many aliases (Tony Starks, Ironman and Pretty Toney), is dropping some beats at the Powerstation on the 7th of June. A founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan and a successful rapper in his own right.
Tighten up that doo rag and get there. I would but I'll be at Lady Gaga (guilty pleasure and yes I will be dressing up).

Huffer Puffer

I had one of these in my intermediate days and they were the coolest thing. I probably won't be busting that one out again anytime soon, but I can't say no to the new dead meat classic down vest.

We Just Got Good Looking

Thanks to George Vause from Black Box we just got good looking. A man of many talents, and he sure can design a killer logo. Reckon this colorway is the jam.

Beanies from AG Winter 2012

Nothing says winter like a fresh as hell beanie, and no matter what people say, you can never have too many. Get your dirty mitts on Acapulco Gold's dope range emblazoned with their Angry 'Lo bear mascot.
Or the 'Para' 'Dise' beanies from the AG winter 2012 collection. Although, I would suggest making sure a mate doesn't wear the matching half; that would look just plain stupid.

Hell, why not even get crafty and try knit your own.

Ties: regimental stripes

Found this cool little piece of info about regimental stripe on ties in the Acapulco Gold campaign.

Source: AG winter 2012 campaign

AG have taken the print from the Jordan III and put it on a tie, way to make office wear street guys!
The crackle elephant print from the shoes was used along with regimental stripes to make the best looking ties that you (if you can get away with it at work) could even match back to your IIIs.

Hélas: Snap Backs

I generally prefer American labels but European Skate sensation Lucas Puig's cap company Hélas is making it huge internationally with their nicely simple 5 panel caps, and I think their pretty cool. Using a variety of fabrics and comfortable lining it's real quality stuff.

The new Hélas five panel are still a snap back but they have a track fastening system which is a modern adaption to an old favourite. There available exclusively from Loaded, High Street and Broadway.

Wu-Tang Clan

On Saturday night I had one of those moments where you look back and wish you had gotten a picture. Imagine a guy who wouldn’t look out of place in the back streets of Brooklyn New York, shooting hoops with his hommies and just generally killing it. He was wearing a black Wu Wear heavy weight crew neck sweat with the 'Cream Team' print. If you’d seen how bad-ass he looked you’d all have to go out and buy one. It reminded me of how sick Wu Wear is and that I really should post about it.
The Wu-Tang Clan (pronounced wu:taen) is a highly influential hip hop collective from Staten Island, New York that consists of a group of rappers that chop and change (Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, Ol' Dirty Bastard and others by equally cool names).

The move from music to clothing resulted in Wu Wear, which at first was not particularly high quality. But in 1999, Nike released a Wu-Tang Clan themed dunk hi. Not many of the shoes were made and they were really popular, the resell prices now can be as much as $7,500.
I got onto this brand from a sneaker store in Australia; the Wu Wear 'Supreme Clientele' singlet is perfect dancing attire.
In 2007 and 2008 Wu Tang and the Alife NYC clothing group collaborated and came out with custom sneakers and t-shirts. The collection was named "A Wu-Tang Life".
This got me researching Alife which I don't know much about, they have possibly the hardest website to navigate, but I found a few items that seemed like it could be worth a second look some time.
Wu-Tang seems to be highly sort after for collaborations at the moment so keep an eye out.

Colour Bug

Kevin Murphy has come out with a hair product range that provides full on hair colour but without the commitment. Colour bug; available in pink, purple and orange.

Collars and Cuffs

Step aside deep Vs and put away all that chest hair boys, thick ribbing necklines are back in. They give a bit of detail to the average t-shirt and looks best with a higher cut. Unfortunately fabric stores seem to no longer stock classic ribbing so it's been quite a hard to get my hands on the right colours, and means I've been using a lot of contrasts. (A trend for girls as well).

Liberty of London

Every year Nike collaborates with Liberty of London for a new line of Nike shoes. I have their Nike Dunks from last season but am in love with the new even slimmer designs.

This year for the first time there is a capsule apparel collection to accompany the Nike x Liberty footwear collection. Choose between the soft destroyer baseball jacket, racer back tanks and sleeveless sweatshirt. The range extends the heritage-running story, incorporating Liberty prints in hoods and subtle detailing.

Acapulco Gold

'A sunny place for shady people'. Acapulco Gold, the best thing to come out of Brooklyn New York since Al Capone. Made in North America and now shipped to our shores, it's the quality of each garment along with the prints and graphics that has got me hooked.
Utility chinos, amazing!
