Tie Up your Jersey and Low Slung Pants

One good thing about the weather not making up its mind, the clothing! Spring and autumn weather always seem to lead to stella outfit choices, it's most definitely the layering. This change of season try tying your jersey around your waist and teaming it with low slung pant rather than high waisted. Easy and on point, and not to mention, practical. Keep the colours neutral and once again keep it fresh comrades.

Once Again

Who knew, in a strange twist of fate sneakers are back in, in a big way. Now don’t get too excited, it’s not like you can wear your gym trainers and tennis shoes around the place, but a lot of labels are supplementing their ranges with sneaker lines like Nike, New Balance and Puma. As a rule, it’s kind of like, a situation that you would normally wear chucks or Vans or flats you can replace them with a pair of kicks.

Most popular is the Nike Safari, which originals I have blogged about before, but the new line of Safaris have recently dropped and are everywhere. Also the Air Max is still hugely popular with a sick range of combos out.

Spring/New Season S.N.S



In anticipation of warmer weather in a couple of weeks (bring it on Japan) I’ve been drilling out some new season gear that will hopefully hold me over until I can suss out some machines over there.

 

Banged out these shorts last night (literally, had to hammer in the rivets; masculine work sewing) and gave them a go tonight at Hip Hop class, great to dance it out in. Pattern I’ve made is super-duper comfy, easily altered and can be worn mid/high waisted or low on the hips (so sweet for the guys as well).

Power Socking

Good news good looking, an old throwback is back.
Ever the helpful reference, urban dictionary put the name 'power socking' to the fashion of contrasting socks to either pant or shoes.
Its all about that awkward cool styling (always my style of choice).
Power socking is a statement of boldness, whether it a sharp pair of sneakers to jam out in, a skate shoe like Vans or a pair of nerdy loafers. Wear black socks with grey, white with black and if all else fails grey and navy socks with whatever.

Metallic

Any metallic fabric will work, just pair it with androgynous cool styling. Wear it on the bottom or as a jacket.
